The Human Cancer Models Initiative’s (HCMI’s) Searchable Catalog now has new features that allow users to easily locate models and their case-associated data in the Genomic Data Commons.

A new Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), “Genomic Data Analysis Network: Genomic Data Analysis Center (U24 Clinical Trial Not Allowed),” is soliciting applications for highly collaborative Genome Data Analysis Centers that will form the Genomic Data Analysis Network. Applications are due Thursday, November 12, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. ET.

The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) is encouraging investigators with diverse expertise in genetics, genomics, and data science to join the Impact of Genomic Variation on Function (IGVF) Consortium. Applications will be supported by funding opportunity announcements (FOAs), and investigators will be asked to develop a framework for systematically understanding the effects of genomic variation on genome function and how these effects shape phenotypes.

Drs. Daoud Meerzaman of NCI’s Center for Biomedical Informatics and Information Technology (CBIIT) and Barbara K. Dunn of NCI’s Biometry Research Group recently served as Guest Editors for a special virtual issue of the journal, Frontiers in Oncology. This collection of articles shows how ‘omics data are helping scientists to better understand the prevention, detection, and treatment of cancer. The issue explores the full range of ‘omics findings, from identifying biomarkers for diagnosing and treating cancer, to uncovering the mechanisms for disease.

The NCI Cancer Research Data Commons’ Genomic Data Commons (GDC) has released a new set of data from NCI programs and partners including the Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium (CPTAC) and the Human Cancer Models Initiative (HCMI).

NCI’s Cancer Research Data Commons (CRDC) has added new data sets from NCI’s Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Center (CPTAC), a national effort to accelerate the understanding of cancer’s molecular basis through large-scale proteome and genome analysis (a.k.a. proteogenomics). 

The NCI Genomic Data Commons (GDC) data release 22 is now available and includes data from the Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium (CPTAC) Glioblastoma Multiforme Discovery Study and CPTAC-3 miRNA sequencing data.

Genomic and clinical data collected for nearly 1,000 cases of multiple myeloma by the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) over eight years is now being shared with the cancer research community through the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Genomic Data Commons.
