Translational Systems Biology: New Computational Technologies and Trial Designs for a Continuum of Personalized Therapy
Need a new approach for making your clinical trial more efficient and accessible to more people? Maybe you need a way to translate your technology into clinical practice? Join this symposium to learn how a systems biology approach might help.
CBIIT’s Dr. Jill Barnholtz-Sloan will discuss NCI’s Data Commons during the session titled, “Challenges and Solutions for Forward and Reverse Translational Oncology.”
Other sample topics include:
- using biomarkers to develop streamlined clinical trials.
- incorporating new drug treatment strategies into clinical practice.
- building a national clinical trial infrastructure to increase access to trials and to generate better, more representative, data.
- exploring new ways to collaborate with research institutes, pharmaceutical/biotech companies, NCI, the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health, and foundations.
At the close of the meeting, the meeting organizers will develop a “call-to-action” manuscript with ideas for integrating systems biology into clinical trials to produce faster benefits for patients.
Dr. Barnholtz-Sloan is the associate director of CBIIT’s Informatics and Data Science Program and senior investigator in NCI’s Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics.
