Cloud Computing Workshop: FireCloud
The Broad Institute’s FireCloud will lead a hands-on workshop teaching cancer researchers and data scientists how to leverage its cloud-based platform to access, analyze, and compute data sets from NCI’s Cancer Research Data Commons (CRDC). This third and final event will close out the cloud computing training series hosted by the NIH National Library of Medicine.
During this workshop, participants will learn how to:
- access and connect key data sets from the CRDC (such as The Cancer Genome Atlas and the Clinical Proteomics Tumor Atlas Consortium) to private workspaces for analysis.
- configure and launch workflows to perform interactive analysis with applications like Jupyter Notebooks and RStudio.
- Share personal FireCloud workspaces with collaborators.
As one of the three Cloud Resources within the NCI CRDC, the Broad Institute FireCloud provides researchers access to a wide variety of data sets, a catalog of tools to analyze and visualize the data directly from the browser, and scalable computational resources to perform large-scale analysis on the cloud.
