NCI Imaging Community Webinar: Orchestration of Distributed Image Archives
In this installment of the NCI Imaging Community webinar series, Dr. Jonas Almeida and Mr. Praphulla Bhawsar of NCI’s Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics (DCEG) will demonstrate the power of the ImageBox2 program in the orchestration of distributed image archives. Learn more about how ImageBox2 facilitates fast and easy access to massive whole-slide images stored in either cloud-based or supercomputer-based repositories over the web, without having to copy or move the original images. This ease of access allows for:
- the extraction, management, and analysis of data.
- the ability to avoid issues related to storage capacity, ownership, and governance.
- artificial intelligence classifiers training across image sets that are not shared.
Dr. Jonas Almeida is a senior investigator and chief data scientist at NCI’s Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics. He leads a multidisciplinary research program that combines systems biology, computational statistics, and software engineering for biomedical applications.
Mr. Prapulla Bhawsar is a data engineer pursuing his master’s degree in computer science at New York University, while working as part of NCI’s Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics. His current projects focus on data science and deep learning, building data pipelines and designing models on image and categorical data.
