The Future of Clinical Trial Data Sharing.... The Art of The Possible
As they join fellow oncology and data experts at the upcoming FDA-Project Data Sphere Symposium, NCI Director Dr. Ned Sharpless and NCI Office of Data Sharing Director Dr. Jaime Guidry Auvil will share insights about the positive forces making clinical data accessibility and reuse possible at NCI.
During the “Sustainability Practices in Sharing and Reuse” panel at 2:30 p.m. ET, Dr. Guidry Auvil will highlight the policies and practices surrounding the data sharing and reuse of clinical cancer research data, such as:
- NCI and NIH data sharing policies.
- NCI’s approach to enabling broad access to NCI clinical trials data.
- NCI/NIH programs including the Cancer MoonshotSM and Childhood Cancer Data Initiative.
At 3:00 p.m. ET, Dr. Sharpless will join Dr. Corrie Painter, associate director of “Count Me In” and research scientist at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, and Dr. David Fajgenbaum, assistant professor of medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. The three will have a fireside chat about the perspectives and practices of regulatory, research, and implementation sciences on clinical trial data sharing.

Dr. Guidry Auvil serves as the director of the Office of Data Sharing at NCI. In her role, Dr. Guidry Auvil leads NCI’s approach to the development and implementation of data sharing and public access policies to enhance NCI’s mission.
