Data Enables Novel Insights for Human Health
Are you interested in how your data can help tackle health equity and ease the burden of disease on society? You can hear Dr. Jill S. Barnholtz-Sloan address these issues in an upcoming National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) webinar.
Hear Dr. Barnholtz-Sloan describe NCI CBIIT’s efforts in data collection, harmonization, and sharing. She’ll also take questions from the NASEM committee as they seek to find better ways of meeting patients’ needs.
This is the second webinar in a three-part series to support NASEM’s committee tasked with investigating strategies to better align investments in innovations for therapeutic development with disease burden and unmet needs. The committee plans to use these webinars, along with other information-gathering efforts, to make recommendations for improving novel discoveries for human health and addressing health equity, and to help in lowering the costs of disease to society.
The webinar is open to the public but only committee members will be able to ask questions.
Dr. Barnholtz-Sloan is acting director of NCI CBIIT and associate director of the Informatics and Data Science Program; she also serves as a senior investigator in the Trans-Divisional Research Program in NCI’s Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics.
