Cloud Computing Workshop: Institute for Systems Biology Cancer Gateway in the Cloud (ISB-CGC)
The Institute for Systems Biology Cancer Gateway in the Cloud (ISB-CGC) will lead a hands-on workshop teaching cancer researchers and data scientists how to leverage its cloud-based platform to access, analyze, and compute data sets from NCI’s Cancer Research Data Commons (CRDC). This will be the first of three events in a cloud computing training series hosted by the NIH National Library of Medicine.
During the workshop, participants will learn how to:
- navigate the ISB-CGC platform and its features.
- use common bioinformatics workflows, using Python and R, to integrate various omic data types (gene mutations, copy number, gene expressions, methylation, and proteomics).
- connect and combine data sets available in the CRDC.
As one of the three Cloud Resources within the NCI CRDC, the ISB-CGC provides researchers access to a wide variety of data sets, a catalog of tools to analyze and visualize the data directly from the browser, and scalable computational resources to perform large-scale analysis on the cloud.
