"Where Clouds Meet the Ground: Democratizing Health Data to Address Community Health Equity"
The National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) will host Dr. L. Ebony Boulware in its next edition of the NIMHD Seminar Series. Dr. Boulware is a general internist and clinical epidemiologist who seeks to improve the quality and equity of health care for individuals and populations affected by chronic diseases and conditions.
Dr. Boulware’s research empowers families and doctors with knowledge and tools to make healthy decisions and better manage chronic diseases.
In her seminar, titled “Where Clouds Meet the Ground: Democratizing Health Data to Address Community Health Equity,” Dr. Boulware will:
- review challenges in translating research and health learning into community health improvement.
- describe efforts to inform community health equity through data democratization efforts.
- consider next steps in research.

Dr. L. Ebony Boulware is the chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine at The Duke University School of Medicine. She is also the director of the Duke Clinical and Translational Science Institute.
