U.S. and E.U. Artificial Intelligence Engagement Series: Advancing Cancer Research
Are you familiar with the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Administrative Arrangement? It has been created to enhance U.S. and E.U. collaboration in AI-focused research, and to share findings and resources that have the potential for broad societal benefits.
As part of this agreement, NCI’s AI working group will host this seminar series, and they will invite researchers and data scientists alike to discuss the series’ overarching topic, “Equitable and Engaged AI to Advance Biomedical Research.”
This three-day virtual meeting will include breakout sessions, plus three panels focused on the following topics:
- July 25: “Privacy Preserving AI,” which will focus on techniques and ethical considerations aimed at safeguarding the privacy of participants' data.
- July 26: “Community/patient engaged AI for biomedical research,” which will showcase technologies and tools for fostering patient-engaged cancer research.
- July 28: “Ethical AI and the inclusion of underserved communities,” which will build upon the principles of explainable AI, AI trustworthiness, and the strategies for addressing challenges affiliated with limited data sets and annotation.
The objective of this seminar series is to host a trans-continental conversation on digital information, how artificial intelligence can interact with it, and its role in biomedical research.
