NCI’s Clinical and Translational Data Commons: Your Resource for Cancer Discovery
Join technical project managers Gina Kuffel and Steph Singleton as they showcase the newly launched Clinical and Translational Data Commons (CTDC). As the latest cloud-based resource within NCI’s Cancer Research Data Commons, the CTDC will enhance your access to clinical and translational data from NCI-funded initiatives.
During the demo, you will learn how to make the most of CTDC’s features, including:
- customizing your search: You can use customizable search filters and dynamic visualizations to streamline cohort building and data exploration.
- integrating with cloud workflows: You can connect CTDC data with the Seven Bridges Cancer Genomic Cloud, allowing you to lead efficient and secure data analysis while reducing the need to manage large data sets locally.
- accessing data securely: You can find clinical and translational data in the CTDC via public, registered, and controlled access tiers. CTDC has implemented robust security protocols to ensure access-controlled and registered access data are protected and accessible only to authorized researchers.
Read more about the CTDC, how you can use it, and how it aims to accelerate cancer discovery.

Ms. Kuffel serves as a technical project manager for the CTDC and the Integrated Canine Data Commons (ICDC), both components of NCI’s CRDC. Kuffel works for the CRDC through the Frederick National Laboratory as a contractor through Leidos Biomedical Sciences. Before joining Leidos Biomedical, Kuffel served as a technical project manager with the Center for Translational Data Science at the University of Chicago. Prior to that, she served as assistant director of the Loyola Genomics Facility at Loyola University Medical Center.
Ms. Singleton serves as a technical project manager for the CTDC and the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health Biomedical Data Fabric (ARPA-H BDF) Toolbox program. Prior to joining the CTDC team, Singleton served as a senior bioinformatics research associate in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine at The George Washington University School of Medicine. There, she held the roles of microbial computational biologist, bioinformatics scientist, and technical project lead across two, large-scale, federally funded projects. Prior to her time in dry labs, she served as a virologist within NIH NIAID’s Laboratory of Infectious Diseases and as an associate biologist for Southern Research Institute.
