Mapping Cellular Plasticity in Tumor Progression and Drug Resistance
Join Dr. Itai Yanai as he provides an overview of how cellular plasticity is emerging as an important driving force underlying cancer progression and drug resistance.
Dr. Yanai will:
- examine the concept of cancer cell states present in a cancerous tumor prior to treatment, as well as those that accompany resistance to increasing drug doses.
- talk about his work published in his lab’s recent manuscript, “Cancer Cell States Recur Across Tumor Types and Form Specific Interactions with the Tumor Microenvironment,” and the recent developments in this project.
- discuss his lab’s work on drug-induced adaptation along a resistance continuum in cancer cells.
To view upcoming speakers or recordings of past presentations, visit the CBIIT Data Science Seminar Series webpage.
The Data Science Seminar Series presents talks from innovators in the cancer research and informatics communities both within and outside of NCI.
Dr. Yanai is a professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at New York University Grossman School of Medicine, and he is the scientific director of Applied Bioinformatics Laboratories. He has a Ph.D. from Boston University.
