Machine Learning and AI: Computational Science in Immuno-Oncology
In partnership with NCI’s Cancer MoonshotSM Initiative, the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) and the Big Data and Data Sharing Committee are hosting the seventh of nine webinars that make up the 2022 SITC-NCI Computational Immuno-Oncology Webinar Series. Dr. Olivier Elemento of Weill Cornell Medicine and NCI Cancer Moonshot Immuno-Oncology Translational Network (IOTN) will present, “Machine Learning and AI: Computational Science in Immuno-Oncology” with moderation by Dr. Santosh Putta of Qognit, Inc.
Researchers increasingly see the tumor microenvironment as a rich potential source of biomarkers of therapeutic response and novel therapeutic targets, but it remains poorly understood. During this webinar, Dr. Elemento will discuss his lab’s work employing a multi-pronged approach to assess the TME and leveraging a combination of machine learning and innovative tissue imaging technologies in various of his lab’s research projects.
The SITC-NCI Computational Immuno-Oncology Webinar Series consists of nine, hour-long courses featuring a moderator and faculty speaker to lead instruction. Topics will cover a host of computational challenges of analyzing and integrating diverse assay data across the spectrum of immuno-oncology. This series is intended for scientists early in their careers and/or those who want to remain abreast of the latest technologies. These webinars were created to foster better communication concerning data science technologies and analyses between cancer immunotherapy researchers and clinicians to advance translational immunotherapy research.
Dr. Elemento is director of the Englander Institute for Precision Medicine (EIPM), professor in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics, associate director of the Institute for Computational Biomedicine, and associate program director of the Clinical & Translational Science Center at Weill Cornell Medicine.
Dr. Putta is the CEO and co-founder of Qognit Inc., a cloud-based software platform for the management and analysis of high-dimensional, large scale single cell data.
