Defining the Need for Open Data Metrics
Join the March 6 Data Science Seminar Series to hear more about the community’s progress to supporting open data.
Thanks to the prevalent adoption of open data practices (including the implementation of the 2023 NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy), a wealth of open data sets are available to researchers.
But to be responsible data stewards, we must work to understand how data are found, accessed, and reused.
With standardized evaluations of data usage, we can create data policy assessments and assess how data are positively influencing both science and society.
In this seminar, Daniella Lowenberg will focus on:
- the journey for developing these assessment frameworks.
- the priority areas.
- how academic and government bodies can meet open data goals.
Daniella is on loan from the University of California Office of the President to the Administration for Children and Families as the senior advisor for data governance.
