Deep Learning for Computer Vision and Medical Image Analysis Interactive Workshop

Hosted by the NIH Artificial Intelligence group and NVIDIA (inventor of the graphics processing unit which bolstered modern AI), this workshop (aimed at NIH researchers but open to the public) will equip investigators, including cancer researchers, with resources to accelerate their work, as well as introduce them to modern approaches to using AI in computer vision and machine learning in medical image analysis.
Additionally, the workshop will include a series of “lightning talks” from NIH staff. NCI speakers include:
- CBIIT’s Dr. Keyvan Farahani will be one of the lightning talk investigators, discussing the NCI Imaging Data Commons and how researchers, pathologists, and informaticists can begin using this resource to accelerate their current research.
- Dr. Stephanie Harmon, a staff scientist in the Center for Cancer Research (CCR), will speak about Recent AI applications in the NCI CCR Artificial Intelligence Resource.
- Dr. Kedar Narayan (contractor), senior scientist and group leader in CCR, will talk about Volume Electron Microscopy: Advances and Challenges in DL-based Segmentation
