Technical Information Specialist Opportunity with the NIH Library Bioinformatics Support Program—Apply by March 31

Public applicants and federal employees can get more information and apply to serve as coordinator for the NIH Library Bioinformatics Support Program as a technical information specialist. All applications are due by March 31, 2021.

In this position, the specialist will help NIH researchers and staff (including those of NCI) understand how to learn and apply bioinformatics analysis techniques to their research. Individuals who have experience providing information services and instruction in a clinical or biomedical research setting are encouraged to apply.

The NIH Library Bioinformatics Support Program is a data-centered program that provides consulting, training, and resources to help NIH researchers further understand the molecular basis of disease. The program also provides software for the analysis of high-throughput data (i.e., next generation sequencing data) as well as software and knowledge bases to help interpret the results of this analysis, especially pathways and genetic variants.
