Postdoctoral Fellowship Opportunity with the Big Data Scientist Training Enhancement Program (BD-STEP)

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) are recruiting postdoctoral fellows for the Big Data Scientist Training Enhancement Program (BD-STEP) to broaden our capacity to apply data-driven findings to cancer research through the support of healthcare-focused data science training.

BD-STEP provides an opportunity for quantitatively trained scientists and engineers to participate in a two-year postdoctoral fellowship to address clinical cancer challenges. Fellows use the VHA's informatics infrastructure—the largest connected healthcare system in the United States—and collaborate with clinicians and interdisciplinary researchers at VA medical centers to lead research studies to advance cancer knowledge and clinical care.

Over the course of their research, fellows will be mentored by both academic and clinical advisors giving them the opportunity to leverage their VA and NCI/NIH connections to network with healthcare and data science experts across government, academia, and industry.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Apply by August 31, 2020, to be considered for the next cohort starting in October 2020.
