NCI Seeks Input on Data Management and Sharing Plans for Cancer Biology Research

If you’re a cancer biology researcher, NCI wants to hear from you through this Request for Information (RFI). Submit your responses by Friday, July 26, 2024.

As you may know, the Data Management and Sharing (DMS) Policy requires all NIH-funded investigators provide detailed plans for how they will manage, maintain, and share biomedical data. NCI wants to understand the challenges and opportunities for cancer biology investigators, like you, regarding institutional support, training needs, and experiences with data reuse.

NCI is specifically looking for your input on the following:

  1. The role and career stage (e.g., tenured professor, postdoctoral candidate, etc.) of contributors to NIH DMS plans
  2. Resources needed for developing and implementing NIH DMS plans
  3. The impact of shared data, which includes the reuse of cancer biology data sets and the perceived reach of cancer biology data sets in compliance with approved NIH DMS plans
