Have you completed your doctoral degree, and do you have a background in computational expertise, physical sciences, and/or engineering? If so, you can apply for the Big Data Scientist Training Enhancement Program (BD-STEP) fellowship opportunity through an NCI and Veterans Health Administration (VHA) collaboration.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, but you must submit your application by August 31, 2023, to be considered for a cohort in October 2023.

This fellowship will allow you to use data science to advance cancer research and patient care. If selected, you will work with clinicians and interdisciplinary researchers to address important patient-centered health challenges in one of the four BD-STEP Veteran’s Affairs medical centers:

• Durham, NC
• Houston, TX
• Palo Alto, CA

You’ll also have the unique opportunity to use an extensive VHA health data infrastructure to solve critical challenges in cancer while gaining valuable exposure to the clinical environment.
