Apply Now to Be a Health Scientist Administrator at NIGMS’s Division of Biophysics, Biomedical Technology, and Computational Biosciences

A new NIH data science job opportunity as a program officer is available. The National Institute of General Medical Sciences, a sister institute of the National Cancer Institute, will hire for this job for its Division of Biophysics, Biomedical Technology, and Computational Biosciences

In this role, you will support research and training program officers in developing bioinformatics and computational approaches. You will join biology with computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, data science, and physics.

As the new program officer, you will manage a portfolio of research grants. You will plan, advise, direct, and evaluate program activities.

You will be ideal for the job if you have:

  • a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university.
  • a background in developing and/or applying computational approaches in solving biomedical problems.
  • experience with NIH extramural funding as an applicant, reviewer, or NIH scientific administrator.
  • excellent communication skills.
