Apply to be part of a team led by Dr. Michael Sargen, who investigates the etiology of aggressive skin cancer types through epidemiology and molecular approaches. Dr. Sargen is an assistant clinical investigator in the Clinical Genetics Branch of NCI’s Division of Cancer Epidemiology & Genetics (DCEG). Explore advantages of being a DCEG Fellow.

Aggressive skin cancer types include melanoma, sebaceous carcinoma, and others. Examples of what you could do in this fellowship include:

  • performing genotype-phenotype analyses using data from the NIH familial melanoma study and population genomics databases.
  • conducting bioinformatics analyses of RNA and exome sequencing data.

If you have training in epidemiologic methods or bioinformatics, analytic thinking skills, and you understand biological and molecular processes, submit your application! To apply, you must submit through the NCI Future Fellows Database and email Dr. Sargen of your intent.
