Genomic Data Commons (GDC) Biospecimen, Clinical, and Experiment Data Model
The NCI’s Genomic Data Commons (GDC) employs a graph-based data model that maintains the relationship between a case, biospecimen, clinical, and submitted data files. Properties within the graph model are defined in the GDC Data Dictionary.
This webinar will review the GDC Data Model and GDC Data Dictionary and demonstrate how to perform faceted searches on properties through GDC data access tools. Groups who may find this webinar of interest include but are not limited to:
- Cancer researchers who are interested in using the GDC and supporting tools to access data from cancer genomics studies
- Application developers who are interested in the structure and content of the GDC Data Model
Dr. Wysocki is the team lead of user services and outreach for the GDC in the Center for Translational Data Science (CTDS) at the University of Chicago. Before joining the GDC team, he studied bamboo genomics and phylogenetics at Northern Illinois University where he received his Ph.D. in 2016.
Dr. Tara Lichtenberg is a clinical data expert at the University of Chicago.
