Infographic depicting multi-colored ribbons listed in a chronological order from left to right. Text on graphic is as follows: 1. Plan Project & Write Grant Application. Contact your program officer/program director (PO/PD) to discuss the project, DSP, & data certification process. Orange graphic of pencil writing over paper document. Prepare DSP as early in the pre-award process as possible, and include it in your grant application. 2. Submit Just-In-Time Materials. Submit institutional certification(s) will Just-In-Time to GPA. Purple graphic of government building. If the DSP in the grant application was not adequate, an approved DSP should be in place by this time. 3. Data Generation Completed. Inform your PO/PD and prepare the basic study information form for your PO/PD to send to GPA with confirmation that your study is within the scope of the grant funding. Light green graphic of a checklist. Your GPA will register your study in the dbGaP submission system. 4. QA/QC Data Submission. Perform a quality assurance check of your study to verify the accuracy of the study submission information. Dark blue graphic of a checklist. 5. Upload Data. The dbGaP system will send an automated email. Follow the instructions to upload your data. When completed, inform your PO/PD and designated GPA and update your annual progress report. Magenta graphic of an upload on a website. 6. dbGaP Study Release. Data will be released six months after initiation of submission process or at the time of first publication (whichever comes first).
