Ms. Sue Pan is the IT engineering program manager for the Office of the Chief Information Officer at CBIIT. She worked on establishing the IT Engineering Program from inception, with an aim at developing and implementing secure and cost-effective IT solutions and processes that help improve and optimize IT operational efficiency, productivity, and alignment with NCI’s scientific and administrative needs. She oversees IT engineering service strategies, processes, continual evaluation and improvement, as well as management of system/infrastructure and software engineering service offerings to NCI staff. Ms. Pan also serves as the federal system owner for NCI’s ServiceNow platform and NCI’s Amazon Web Services General Support System, as well as the process owner for Configuration Management and Knowledge Management in the IT service management lifecycle. Ms. Pan joined NCI in 2006 as a contractor principle software system engineer/senior technical lead with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and an IT manager with SAIC-Frederick. She joined CBIIT’s federal workforce in 2013. Prior to CBIIT, Ms. Pan had more than 12 years of experience in software system lifecycle development and management, supporting mostly life sciences and biomedical research, with six years at Celera Genomics and five years at the Center for Information Technology’s Computational Biosciences and Engineering Laboratory. Ms. Pan has a master’s degree in computer science from Johns Hopkins University, a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Virginia.
