NCI’s Childhood Cancer Data Initiative (CCDI) Releases New APIs

Thanks to the NCI Childhood Cancer Data Initiative (CCDI), you can now use two new APIs, which offer enhanced data access and seamless integration for researchers (like you) and institutions.

The Data Federation Resource API V1

December 2024 Update: The newly available Version 1.1.0 has enhanced this API’s functionality by introducing metadata fields—Anatomic Site, Specimen Molecular Analyte Type, Library Source Material, and Library Selection Method. Use these fields to improve your data search capabilities.

Use this API to access data from multiple resources seamlessly. You can retrieve genomic, clinical, imaging, and biospecimen information from sources such as:

  • Kids First Data Resource Center,
  • Pediatric Cancer Data Commons,
  • St. Jude Cloud, and
  • Treehouse Childhood Cancer Data Initiative.

You will also have access to data from additional participating organizations in the near future.

By eliminating the need for data consolidation into a single centralized repository, this API is set to enhance the landscape of childhood cancer research and propel advancements in developing effective treatments and therapies for pediatric cancer patients.

CCDI Participant Index (CPI) API

Use this API to explore complex questions, gain deeper insights into diseases, and develop innovative therapies. The CPI API streamlines the management and sharing of cross-linked participant IDs across various studies and research institutions. It facilitates comprehensive data integration by connecting participant IDs from 32 diverse domains.

You can request access to the CPI API by emailing NCI CCDI.
