ITCR Training Network Launches “Cracking the Cancer Code” Podcast

Data are everywhere, but does data drive discovery in the fight against cancer? Whether you’re an early-stage investigator, seasoned researcher, patient, or simply curious about how data science is shaping the future of cancer research, this podcast is for you!

Listen to the Cracking the Cancer Code podcast.

Join the NCI-funded ITCR Training Network (ITN) as they present the data-driven fight against cancer by talking to experts, cancer survivors, and patient advocates.

Experts talk about the forefront of cancer research while the hosts—Dr. Carrie Wright and Candace Savonen—break down the concepts and background related to the conversation.

Candace Savonen, tech lead of ITN, shared, “Carrie and I have collaborated with many researchers and patient advocates as part of the ITN. We realized we had access to fascinating insider stories from talking with these individuals. We were excited to create this podcast so others could benefit from hearing these conversations, learning about the exciting research work, as well as the journeys of those who have fought cancer personally.”

Dr. Carrie Wright, co-principal investigator and ITN lead, added, “We wanted to discuss what led people in the ITCR community to their current roles and provide a high-level overview of where cancer research is today and where it might be going. The discussions we’ve had have been incredibly meaningful and enlightening. We are really excited to share the podcasts with listeners.”

Dr. Elizabeth Humphries and M.J. Wu edit and produce the Cracking the Cancer Code podcast. Episodes air every other week. NCI Grant UE5CA254170 supports the ITN and this podcast.
