Early-Career, Data Science Investigators from Underrepresented Groups Are Eligible for Grants via Cancer Moonshot℠ Scholars Program

NCI has issued a Funding Opportunity Announcement for the Cancer Moonshot Scholars program and is accepting applications until November 8, 2022.

This innovative program seeks to increase the diversity of thought and approach to cancer research while closing the gap in R01 grants received by underrepresented groups. NCI encourages investigators—including data scientists—in the biomedical, clinical, behavioral, and social sciences research workforce to apply.

Get more details about the Cancer Moonshot Scholars program from NCI’s Drs. Doug Lowy and Sanya Springfield.

The Cancer Moonshot portfolio includes the data science initiative to Build a National Cancer Data Ecosystem, which facilitates the sharing, accessing, combining, and analyzing of data for research. NCI’s Cancer Research Data Commons is a component of this ecosystem, connecting cancer research data with analytics tools through the power of cloud computing.
