CPTAC Releases Clinical Data and Plasma Samples Collected from Breast Cancer Patients

Colorized illustration of breast cancer cells.

The Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium (CPTAC) network collected clinical plasma samples from 1,700 breast cancer patients who underwent biopsies and 200 breast cancer patients who completed treatment. Accompanying each sample is a set of clinical patient data covering the demographic, medical history, pathology report, and sample processing variables. These data, together with the samples now available in NCI’s Specimen Resource Locator, are publicly available resources that can be used by investigators across the global cancer community to help accelerate precision oncology.
