Voice of the Customer
Mr. Eric Williams is the “voice of the customer”, focusing on customer service and improving customer relations as they relate to IT services for CBIIT. Before becoming a federal employee, Mr. Williams was a contractor with NCI for six years. Upon joining the federal workforce, he was one of the lead engineers supporting and then named acting IT operations manager in 2007 (when the NCI Center for Bioinformatics and Information Systems and Computer Services combined to become what is now CBIIT), a role he was officially given in 2009. He served in this role for 9 years. Mr. Williams received an NCI Director’s Award in 2013 and an NIH Director’s Award in 2015 as a member of the Shady Grove Facility and IT Infrastructure Team, which helped stand up the NCI Shady Grove building. He also received an NIH Director’s Award in 2007 for the Office of Communication and Public Liaison (formerly the Office of Communication and Education) Data Center Consolidation. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in urban studies.
